Some of our past presenters

We've had the privilege of hosting remarkable photographers who have opened their world to us.   These generous artists have shared far more than technical tips—they've given us glimpses into their creative minds, their career paths, and the experiences that have shaped their photographic vision. Every presentation leaves us inspired, informed, and grateful for the opportunity to learn from the best.

Seng Mah

Gary Meredith

Stephen Heath

Alex Cearns

Seng  is a photographer, educator, traveler, and the heart behind Venture Photography Workshops and Tours.  He believes photography is more than just mastering settings or composing a shot. It’s about connection. It’s about those quiet, powerful moments when the camera helps you tell someone’s story, feel the soul of a landscape, or experience real joy in the creative process.

Growing up on a large Wheatbelt farm in southern Western Australia, Gary was immersed in wide open spaces and developed a deep love of nature. That connection endured after moving to the city, where he still made time to pause and appreciate the natural world. Years later, a camera bought for a family trip to the Canadian Rockies revealed a way to share nature’s beauty with a global audience.

Family man and photographer, lover of coffee and master of creativity!  From the British armed forces where he honed the unique art of camouflage and concealment to disguise shape, shine, sound, silhouette, smell and movement. To becoming a photographer covering genres such as aerial, theatre, event, portrait wedding and family.

Alex Cearns crafts exquisite animal portraits that convey the intrinsic joy people find in animals. As Creative Director of Perth-based Houndstooth Studio, she photographs around 1,300 animals per year. Her clients include engaged pet lovers, leading corporate brands, and around 40 Australian and international animal charities and conservation organisations. Her images have been published extensively worldwide, in media, books, magazines, and ad campaigns.
